Please take the time to read this before you decide if you wish to apply to the guild. This will give you an idea of what Reckoning expects from you as a recruit, and give you an idea of what Reckoning is about as a guild.
Reckoning is a raiding guild on Lightninghoof (RP-PvP) server that focuses on PVE progression. We are a raiding guild first and foremost, however we do have a number of active PvPers. We have been around since June of 2007, and steadily raided through Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King content.
Reckoning is made up of raiders in their mid 20's with good senses of humor. We do not tolerate racism in guild chat, and we expect guild members to keep their drama out of the guild.
Typically we raid Sunday through Thursday, 7-11 central time. Invites go out between 6:30 and 6:45. We expect people to make their way to the zone during this time. During progression, we will raid as late as 12:30.
We are looking for dedicated and experienced raiders. We are looking for players who take initiative and go out and make things happen. Being passive is not an option in reckoning. If your class requires you to be vocal, you absolutely must be vocal on vent during raids. Sometimes the success of a kill or a raid hinges on the communication of an individual.
We expect a high level of preparation for fights. Understanding fight mechanics going into fights (especially limited attempt fights) should go without saying. If you ask after a 4th wipe about a mechanic you should have known about going into the fight, chances are you are not reckoning material. We expect you to understand your class in and out, and we expect that you adjust your class based on PTR changes.
As a recruit, we expect you to maintain near 100% attendance during your recruitment phase, unless we are otherwise notified.
Gear Requirements: All of your character's gear must be fully and correctly enchanted/gemmed
Profession Requirements: You must have two raiding professions. Herbalism and Skinning probably wont cut it.
Experience Requirements: You must be familiar with all the current boss fights, especially the heroic modes.
Skill Requirements: You must be confident with your ability to play your class at an optimal level. Awareness and and foresight are absolute necessities.
Attitude: You have to have a killer instinct when it comes to killing a fight. Having 25 people who truely want to kill a fight will go a long way. You also must have no problem taking constructive criticism. Criticism is not made to belittle you, but it is done more so to point out your specific weakness in a certain encounter and to help you adjust and master the mechanic(s) to be successful the very next pull.
Our trial period normally lasts about four weeks. However, it can and will be extended under certain circumstances.
Reckoning uses a DKP system that banks DKP earned based on being present for boss kills. When an item drops, members are able to bid on the item with their accumulated DKP. The only type of item that is not bid on, are Legendary Items which are assigned by the officer core to an individual or individuals.
